The vision for HATCH is coming to life.
Agora Partners and ASG Real Estate have formally kicked off the design process with LA-based BAM Architecture Studio to create a flexible, multi-tenant office space for emerging bioscience companies. The individual tenant spaces offer a combination of wet lab (fixed lab benches with sinks) and dry lab (scientist workstations and offices) facilities with access to a shared auditorium for presentations and seminars. HATCH artfully combines a modern design—fit for the needs of bioscience—while maintaining the character of the original 1930s warehouse with exposed wooden bow trusses and skylights.
HATCH was featured in two interviews with Daina Beth Solomon from the Los Angeles Business Journal. Highlighting the entrepreneurial development approach to HATCH, the Principals are maintaining the industrial zoning while converting the “warehouse into [bioscience] offices rather than take it down and start from scratch.” In light of the expanding biotech industry in Southern California and the burgeoning LA Bioscience Corridor in North East LA, Agora Partners and ASG Real Estate are responding to market demand in the area with HATCH @ LA Bioscience Corridor.
HATCH is quickly becoming a part of the bioscience community in Los Angeles—connecting with incubators, existing companies, universities, and nonprofits. Since many life science and biotech stakeholders have been a part of the process for emerging incubator companies, they are eager to provide their insights and learn about HATCH, a new product type in the area. Through engagement with the bioscience community and stakeholder meetings, HATCH will provide a space that is conducive to the growth of not only the emerging companies, but also the LA bioscience community as a whole.
